It’s that time of the year again in the Northern Hemisphere when students are going back to school, American Football returns on the weekends, and we can get back to enjoying our evenings cleaning up our cards and comping them on 130point.com. Even though the Summer months in the North are coming to an end, there’s a lot of new wax box products that we should be looking forward to this month.. Here are the Top 10 product releases that Waxstat is looking forward to ripping open in September 2023.
2023 Panini Donruss Elite Football (September 1, 2023)
Like every season, Donruss Elite’s checklist, collectors can expect some of the early cards of Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis. With a release date of September 1, 2023, 2023 Panini Donruss Elite Football will be in stores and with card breakers just in time for the start of the NFL Football season.
2022-23 Panini Mosaic Basketball Hobby Box (September 1, 2023)
Not only are we getting a football release on the 1st of September, but we’re also getting one of the annual basketball favorites: 2022-23 Panini Mosaic Basketball along with the Stained Glass Set that is a staple of Panini’s Mosaic cards. The hobby box will release on September 1, 2023 and will include 10 packs per box and 15 cards per pack. The chase for this product will be Paolo Banchero, Jalen Williams, Walker Kessler and Keegan Murray. For those that are speculating, Gonzaga University great Chet Holmgren is a rookie for the 2022-23 NBA season despite not playing a game during the season.
2023 Topps Stranger Things Season 4 (September 1, 2023)
As if September could not get any better, the Netflix hit – Stranger Things, will have their Season 4 Hobby Box release. For less than $140 USD, you’re getting a hobby box with 22 packs with 6 cards per pack. We are chasing a few inserts including Vecna’s Curse Lenticulars, Upside Down, zerocool Black Parallel’s numbered to 0 and a rare Cassette Tape.
2022-23 Panini Spectra Basketball Hobby Box (September 6, 2023)
One of the mid-to-higher end products to come out on September 6, 2023 is the 2022-23 Panini Spectra Basketball Hobby Box. Coming in around $900 per hobby box, you’ll hopefully get your money’s worth with an average hobby box break of 4 autographs and 4 parallels. The chase will be the Paolo Banchero one-of-one nebulas.
2023 Panini Immaculate Baseball Hobby Box (September 6, 2023)
It’s September, so that means that Major League Baseball’s regular season is coming to an end and the rosters are expanding. Collectors that have been speculating for years may see their investments start to pay off this month as those prospects get called up to the Big Leagues. But it’s not too late for those that want to jump in with this year’s rookies through 2023 Panini Immaculate Baseball. With a September 6 release date, collectors can expect to hit 4 autographs and 2 memorabilia cards on average per Immaculate box.
2023 Upper Deck Marvel Loki Season 1 Hobby Box (September 7, 2023)
One of our favorite Disney+ series that has hit the small screen is Marvel’s Loki starring Tom Hiddleston. While we’re still wrapping our heads around the Marvel multi-verse, it’s been a very fun show that explains the concept of character variants. We’re looking forward to watching Loki Season 2 that releases a few weeks after the release of the Season 1 hobby box on September 7, 2023. Priced around $120 per hobby box, you’ll get 15 packs of 6 cards per pack. Each box will have a serial #’d base set parallel card and 2 of the following: film cels, metal cards, printing plates, holograms or autographs. I’d love to have a Hiddleston, Jonathan Majors or Owen Wilson autographed card in my personal collection.
2023 Panini Plates & Patches Football Hobby Box (September 8, 2023)
One of my favorite products that have not seen the shelves at your local card shop since 2020 is the 2023 Panini Plates & Patches Football Hobby release on September 8, 2023. What I like about this product is that you’ll get some of the earliest on-card autos of your favorite NFL rookie and other stars. The average hobby box break will include 2 autograph cards, 1 memorabilia card, 1 parallel or insert card and 1 base card all for around $300 per hobby box.
2023 Bowman Chrome Baseball Hobby Box (September 13, 2023)
Let’s keep the good baseball times rolling with the September 13, 2023 release of 2023 Bowman Chrome Baseball Hobby. One of the most sought after baseball releases of the year is hitting the hobby store shelves this month. In this product’s box break, you’ll get 2 Chrome Autographs, 1 Prospect Shimmer Parallel and 1 Prospect Process Insert per hobby box on average. For less than $300 per hobby, you’ll get 2 autographed cards so it may be worth the risk for many baseball card collectors.
2022 Panini Flawless Football Hobby Box (September 20, 2023)
“Flawless? We’re talking about Flawless, man!” – probably not said by Allen Iverson, but I’m sure he understands that any Flawless release is something that everybody in #TheHobby will take notice. 2022 Panini Flawless Football and the chase for Brock Purdy will hit your local card shop on September 20, 2023 and will include 6 on-card autographs, 1 or 2 gems and 2 or 3 memorabilia cards on average. You better start saving your money because this hobby box will set you back about $8000, but at least you’ll have a nice shiny Flawless case that comes with it.
2023 Panini Black Football Hobby Box (September 27, 2023)
It’s going to be a football-centric month with Panini’s fourth big football release of the month with 2023 Panini Black Football Hobby. I really like this product because they get straight to the point – no fluff! Priced around $450, you’ll get a 1 pack of 5 cards which on average includes 1 rookie patch autograph, 1 additional autograph, 1 memorabilia card, 1 base card and 1 parallel card. It’s not a bad product to chase your 2023 NFL rookies.
