Once upon a time we here at 130 Point started a trading card hit register in an attempt to track where some of the biggest cards from each release were pulled, with the aim of creating a long-term repository of information for collectors to refer back to in the future. Whilst this tool didn’t take off, Ty Campos (aka Ty the Collect0r) over at The Ultimate WWE 1/1 Tracker has done exactly this for a variety of Wrestling and MMA releases!
What is The Ultimate WWE 1/1 Tracker?
Have you ever wondered if your favorite wrestlers’ 1/1 from a certain product is still out there in the wild? If it has been pulled? What it looks like? Possibly whether you’re spending endless money on boxes chasing something that’s already in someone’s collection? Maybe you’ve been in a box/case break and thought about buying a certain name and wondered if their 1/1 was a possibility. Well, the Ultimate WWE 1/1 Tracker is the answer to all of your questions.
In early 2022 (during the Prizm release), I wondered what 1/1s were still out there and if there was any way to find out in any ‘official’ capacity (I use the word ‘official’ loosely). I know there were a few people who had kept personal spreadsheets or checklists here and there for themselves for single products from time to time, but I couldn’t find anything widely available to the community that anyone could access if they wondered the same thing. At that point, a light bulb in my head went off.The Tracker was initially just an extremely overshared spreadsheet with the first 2 big Panini WWE products on it, 2022 Select and Prizm. I was doing daily updates, putting time in out of love for the community. The numbers slowly climbed. The Tracker hit 50, then 100, then 500, then 1000. Around this time, I began to realize how useful it truly is to the community. I saw collectors referencing it to other collectors, I saw breakers referencing it to help fill breaks, I was being asked to share regular updates in Facebook groups, even got asked at one point if I knew about it myself! So I thought “Man, I need to actually develop this into a full website and give it the space it deserves”. I’ve always had an interest in coding, back to Windows 98, so I have a bit of a knowledge on how to build sites and code. So I spent the Holidays and the beginning of the year developing and officially launched the full website for the Tracker in March 2023. But I started it out of curiosity and wanted to create something useful that will make an impact on the community.
So now, you can go to the website, scroll down, find a set that you have your eye on (any WWE set dating back to 2021), click it and open its Tracker, complete with the full checklist. This is where collectors will find information to aid them in their hunt for their favorite 1/1s. All collectors can find benefit, whether you’re a completionist, a rookie chaser, or even a supercollector, all the 1/1s that have surfaced are logged and most have pictures attached. You will also find numbers showing what percentage of the total 1/1s have been pulled from the product and a complete list of redemptions available. Some of the companies I’ve partnered with have made it easier on the community by providing tools to find the best pricing for boxes if you’re looking to buy or finding comps if you’re looking to sell (*cough cough 130point*). It’s become a true hub for wrestling collectors. To submit to the Tracker, there are methods listed on the website, and the only rule of the Tracker is *proof of pull* (meaning a picture must be provide, no matter who the card belongs to or where it came from).
What’s the future look like for The Ultimate WWE 1/1 Tracker and how can collectors join the community?
The Tracker has become an ever-growing beast, and I’m super proud of it. Today we sit at over 2,500 1/1s tracked. It’s grown exponentially in the past few months. The traffic has become mind blowing to me, considering this all just started as an extremely overshared spreadsheet. I’ve also picked up a few partners along the way who have helped put the Tracker in front of a wider audience whom I am very appreciative of. I intend to continue growing and expanding it and have plans for a mobile app and plans to eventually venture into the other sectors of the hobby with the Tracker as well.
I also have a wrestling card community called No Gimmick Wrestling Cards. I started NGWC so myself and my fellow card collectors or wrestling enthusiasts can come and be themselves, hang out, make some deals, find some breaks to get into at any time on any day, watch some shows, and have fun without having to worry about anything besides the hobby. We also offer group submissions to get your cards graded for less with a quick turnaround. But there’s no politics, no bullying, no gimmicks. Just loving what we do. Because at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. Love for the hobby.
